Johnsons 5th Grade May At a Glance

May 2- Wax Museum live performance by 5 th grade from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.; 5 th grade should report in costume 15 minutes early

May 3- Field Day for 5 th grade is 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. (volunteers needed, let us know asap); wear hat, sun screen, and closed toe shoes

  • Benchmark Testing

    We just completed winter benchmark testing. We will be reviewing results with students and helping them set goals.

  • Why Homework Choices?

    There are six choices for homework. While this creates more work for me, it allows your child to work on reading in the way that will help them most. Students are more motivated when given choice. Parents are included in the choice to ensure that it is something that will improve specific students.

  • iReady Logins

    Students will be getting their iReady logins during the week of Sep. 10th. This will allow the students who selected iReady as homework to begin completing their 100 minutes per week very soon!

    This allows us to begin Fall Benchmark testing to determine your child's reading level.

  • Text Structure [LINK]

    Text structure is an important skill for both reading and writing. Students better understand the reason for the non-fiction writing.
