Games are a fun and wonderful way to exercise higher level thinking.The following are some great ones. Several can be found in regular stores. I recommend Mindware (see links) or an online search for the others.

This laser deflection game exercises strategy and visual perception skills. (manufacturer recommends ages 9 & up but my 7 year old loves it)
